​Flower clusters of 10-15 nodding bell-shaped flower heads consisting of only ray florets (white, pinkish or purplish)  with protruding styles. 

Smooth purple phyllaries (sepal-like bracts)

​Flower heads: 5-6 greenish-white ray flowers with dark-tipped phyllaries and lighter brown pappus.
