Native to Ontario

Habitat: Moist places
Blooms: June to October

Stem: climbing, up to 6 m, covered in sticky hairs

​Leaf: 3-5 lobes, up to 17 cm

​Tendrils, with 3 branches, opposite the leaves

​Flowers:  8-10 mm, greenish-white. 
Male and female flowers on same vine. 

Male flowers in racimes (stemmed clusters). 

Female flowers more bell-shaped in small head-like clusters lower on the plant.

Fruit: 3-10 clustered in a spiny bur.
